Tonight's Poet Corner: Introspection

Whew. Okay.

My Yearbook staff got their first deadline done. I wrote more than I would have liked, but not as much as I did last year. My principal just wrote notes, and I'm a bit nervous about what she had to say, but I won't have to deal with it until Tuesday, sooooooooo

Midterms. Wow. Yeah, the aftermath is insane right now, with accusations of election corruption flying and the White House showing their fascist side by using a doctored video to kick out a reporter. But the Democrats won the House. Yes, the Senate became redder, and that's bad in the grand scheme because of the Supreme Court. But now we don't have a single party government. We can save healthcare, prevent more damaging tax cuts for the wealthy, and investigate this sad excuse for a president. Anyway, this means your vote actually counts, sooooooo

I have a nice weekend ahead. I'm more than halfway done with my play adaptation of my short story, "And It Is Fragile," so I might be able to finish it before my next work week starts. I got to see a good friend perform in Mortified tonight in the city, and that was fun. Tomorrow, I might be able to do some photography stuff with my students and a good friend of mine who volunteers for me, and Sunday, I'm seeing my parents, and Monday I might be working on a new video series with my wifey, soooooooooo

Yeah. Okay. Much better week, all things considered. I like that. I've started a new English unit (my students' presentations were fun, as usual), and I'm ready to have a way more relaxing and less emotional November than my October was.

Let's do this!

Have a great night and a great weekend, everyone.
