you'd be intolerable to talk to
in person, and I'd never take
tea or mead or the blood
tea or mead or the blood
of my enemies with you,
but I still appreciate your
presence in black on parchment,
where your sneer radiates
from the print, but it never
becomes more than
two-dimensional in its
gleam or its venom.
