Tonight's Poet Corner: Rewrite The Bible

Rewrite The Bible by Belinda Roddie rewrite the Book of Jessie taking a piss on copper-faced Daniel facing twelve lions in a foxhole. rewrite the part where a woman turns into salt and her husband scoops it into a sack and carries it away (because salt was fucking pricey back in the day). rewrite the number of times a man was nailed to a piece of plywood, gagged with a dried up weed, and tossed into the Mediterranean where he cried brine and writhed so much that he got splinters in his spine. we want to use that story for someone cooler. make it two pieces of plywood.

Today's OneWord: SOPA

There will be no OneWord today as oneword.com is currently down. The reason for it being down, however, is incredibly important. OneWord and thousands of other sites including Wikipedia, Reddit, and Boing Boing are participating in a 24 hour blackout in protest of the online piracy bills SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) and PIPA (Protect IP Act). For those of you who aren't in the loop, SOPA and PIPA were written and are supported by politicians and groups such as the Chamber of Commerce and the Motion Pictures Association of America (MPAA) to combat the issue of online piracy and counterfeiting. However, the way that SOPA and PIPA are written threatens to violate freedom of expression, disrupt cybersecurity, and stifle internet innovation by introducing a series of provisions that allows the American judicial system to shut down sites or cut off funding at its own jurisdiction, without due process or trial. Today's OneWord: Below

They thought I was below them. Inferior. Crazed. Diseased. They sat three tables away from me on purpose as I ate my danish and drank my coffee. They visibly wrinkled their noses as we held hands and kissed. They were all dressed the same, in gray suits and ties, no silver. And when they walked, they left dirt behind from their heels, to remind me I was below the mud itself as well.

Tonight's Poet Corner: Neutral

Neutral by Belinda Roddie so my car's stuck in neutral and I can't back up or speed ahead instead my 2007 pick- up truck is taking a trip to the city of New Las Ditch Next To My Father's Apartment.

Today's OneWord: Bellow

"Don't go near the moon!" he bellowed, and the horsemen picked up speed. The icicle breath of their stallions stabbed the air and left frosty particles flying like frozen stardust. Constantly swirling upward in a funnel cloud of winter and bitterness. He watched from his window as the hooves clattered into nothingness, his hands hot against the wooden pane. He did not dare to warn them again. They were too far into the sky.

Today's OneWord: Accordion

"He plays the accordion?" "Yep." "He plays the accordion!" I propped my banjo against my knee and grinned, plucking away at the strings. It was always fun to eavesdrop on the American tourists who thought we all played flute and fiddle. Donal wove the accordion around his hands like a stretching tapestry, playing a melody as colorful as the rainbow.
