Tonight's Poet Corner: Introspection

I made it through my first week of teaching at my new school site! Interesting to work with both seniors and freshmen. Got some fun and great students - we'll see what happens when we get down to true business. Next Tuesday will be awesome - my novel is officially released then! I'll have links when they are ready and appropriate. Anyway, I'm tired. Sleep beckons. Tomorrow, I'm going to be a pro at doing absolutely nothing significant. Have a great night and a great weekend, everyone!

Friday's Ten Word Tales: Orientation

Orientation by Belinda Roddie The first week was pretty successful. Now for the plunge.

Today's OneWord: Underway

"Did you hear about the riots?" "What? 'Riots?'" "Yeah, man. Where they break windows and stuff." I shook my head. "No riots that I've seen," I remarked. "I know a large protest is underway in the next city over, but I don't think it's turned violent." "You're dumb, bro. Protests always turn violent." I sighed at my brother. "And you always turn into a moron when you open your mouth. But maybe that's permanent now."

Oh, Cinnamon by Belinda Roddie Oh, cinnamon, you please my palate so, whether it be for toast or luscious roll, or mixed into a cocktail that shall flow into my esophagus, my sweet soul thanks you for your flavor, for your respite in these dark, trying times. I savor you in tea and sprinkle you across delights to add some extra spice. Though I could do without you, my life is improved by your presence. While I recline beside my desk and bemoan my workload, I know that more of your spirit would please me. All the best to you, my spackled love, and now, I will add you to a martini I shall swill.

Today's OneWord: N/A

Tonight's Poet Corner: She Keeps Laughing

She Keeps Laughing by Belinda Roddie She's so proud of herself - when she shouldn't be - at her disgusting joke, so here I am, singing my stupid little ditty to "punish" her. Married life is weird.

Today's OneWord: Boys

Have you ever heard the motto, "Boys will be boys?" Well, I say let's push it to the stereotypical extreme. Get them to wear camo and paint black stripes below their eyes. Make them shoot each other in the twig and berries with pellets until one of them starts to cry. Then, feed them bacon and mayonnaise sandwiches until their stomachs are distended. That night, make them believe that girls are the enemy. Bitches love that.
