Tonight's Poet Corner: Sonnet Solstice #504

Image
We'll Build A House by Belinda Roddie We'll build a house much better than the one we've paid to squat in, and it'll have all the qualities we've ever wanted: Fun opportunities for art on walls, a bar downstairs, and some cozy bedrooms for both us and our future kids. Our yard will be so big, with redwoods killing gloom with their height and grandeur. I'll be a bard but also a master griller, while you will paint and put masterwork on display. We'll both write, sing, dress up, film, and paint blue skies across our ceilings to fight the gray around us. Or maybe we'll stay right here and try to fix the house we live in, dear.

Tonight's Poet Corner: Cheers

Image
Cheers by Belinda Roddie Make me not the predictable lush, but make me flush with love at last. I strip my parts down to bolts, to a fragile anatomy, like glass pulled from salt, from sand, from a god's hand. I wish for sobriety when the world I live in is drunk off its ass and singing lullabies to sweet, sweet idiocy.

Image
Needle & Scalpel by Belinda Roddie I will have my body tattooed, scarred, reshaped, and reborn as the phoenix incarnate that I am meant to be. And you, who shares my blood, have absolutely no fucking say in that necessary outer transformation into my true inner image. It's creepy. Back off.

Today's Ten Word Tale: Just Relax

Just Relax by Belinda Roddie A few drinks with a friend to cool me off.

Tonight's Poet Corner: Slipping
