Today's OneWord: Win

You win the game if you cheat the system. But if you cheat the system, you automatically lose. So, in essence, there is no possible win. There is no feasible success. No triumph. No victory. You lose, or you lose. Simple as that.

Unless you find the loophole. There is always a loophole. Sometimes it's hidden. Sometimes it's in plain sight, and you're looking too hard for it when it's right in front of you. Read the rule book. Doublecheck each second letter of each word. Then, begin the process of total annihilation.

Today's OneWord: Statues

Why were the statues going white, and why was the rain cascading in sheets? I tried to find solace by the window, but the world outside had become nothing but glass. Blankets of water blurred the semblance of life that I stretched my mind to detect. Near me, my lover was asleep on the divan with wine pooling across her lap. Her curls lay in wet swaths around the warm nape of her neck. The statues would crumble in due time. The deluge was impending. We both would drown.
