Tonight's Poet Corner: Sonnet Solstice #341

I'm Like A Cat
by Belinda Roddie

I'm like a cat - I'm restless and displeased
no matter where I am or what I do.
If I'm inside, I want to feel the breeze
and romp under a sky intensely blue.
But if I'm outside, I desire a couch
and blankets as I snuggle in my room
or in front of my keyboard, where I slouch
and stare at my computer screen of doom.
It's in and out and in and out for me.
I can't decide which state of mind is better:
To be a wanderer or homebody,
or to do both, no matter what the weather.
Yes, being such a spaz can be a chore -
my wife, were she a cat, would stay indoors.
