Tonight's Poet Corner: Introspection

Another week back at my job in the can! Students are chill. Next week, we really launch into our curriculum.

I adore being able to be a part of play readings on a weekly basis now. Tonight, I got to play the role of Alphonse Mucha in Theresa Rebeck's Bernhardt/Hamlet, which was super fun. And I got to practice a Czech accent and draw a beard on my face so I could look like this guy!

He also designed a ton of posters for Sarah Bernhardt, including this one for her rendition of Hamlet, which is the crux of Bernhardt/Hamlet's plot.

Cool, huh?

I get to see my family both days this weekend, and I'm hoping to continue to do some cowriting with my sister. We've been working on a fun play together, and I also plan on writing another short play to be read through my online theater company. We're actually putting together a board of directors - to think, OK Zoomer was originally created for a small group of friends!

So, yeah. Time to get a bit more shut eye, since I'm getting up early tomorrow. At least we can open the windows these days without it smelling like a barbecue outside. My in-laws are safe, too.

Also, rest in peace, Chadwick Boseman. Gone way too soon, man.

Have a great night and a great weekend, everyone.
